The Nigerian Military says it has killed a large number of Boko Haram terrorists including some of the group's top leaders in combined operations of the Army and Air Force. Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, in a statement on Thursday, said the terrorists were neutralised following heavy artillery bombardments and air interdictions on registered targets. According to Brigadier General Usman, the attacks were carried out based on received information about the location of some suspected top Boko Haram terrorist leaders. A fire has reportedly wrecked the female hostel in the Jos campus of the Plateau State Polytechnic According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the fire, which started around 8.30 a.m., raged on till 11.44, causing confusion among students and staff – No life was, however, lost. A 23 year old man, simply identified as Abubakar has been been sentenced to 18-months imprisonment by a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court at Aso Pada, Nasarawa State, on Monday for stealing a bag of cassava flakes aka garri.
